Welcome to McCoy Film Production

Founded in 1995 by a young creative group of media professionals, McCoy Film Production is specializes in all forms of media including television commercials, feature films, corporate & infomercial, music videos, and still photography (product, architecture, landscape, fashion, portrait and more). In a world which has become absolutely dependent on video and photography for both entertainment as well as advertising, the creation of new media is key to the success and growth of your business.

We love technology. Our staff spends every moment exploring next-generation cameras, software, gadgets, and computers to ensure we are always leaps ahead of the competition. We have been the first to implement many new technologies, often before the public is even aware of their existence. We were one of the first production companies to offer many of the latest formats including Panavision's Genesis camera, Band Pro's CineSpeed slow motion camera, the RED ONE camera, and now the RED EPIC, as well as offer true uncompressed HD editing.

Every client has specific needs. It is our job to custom tailor the production that is right for you, your business, and your budget. You are in good hands with McCoy Film Production. Once you take delivery of your first production, you will know you have made the right choice.

Give us a call. We aren't pushy salesmen; we simply love what we do and we're happy to explain the technical and creative process with you, in terms that you can easily understand. In the meantime, take a look around our website and feel free to email us with any questions or to schedule a meeting. Thank you for stopping by!

Shooting a Mitsubishi commercial series in Los Angeles.  Executive Producer: Jeff McCoy

BioGRAPHY
Jeff McCoy
Producer. Cinematographer. Editor.

McCoy discovered his passion for filmmaking at age 12, when he began filming action sports. While attending Newport Harbor High School, he created and aired his own public access television show, "The Newport Show". The show's success opened doors to the world of commercial advertising. While studying cinematography at Chapman University's School of Film & Television, McCoy spent most nights and weekends working in Los Angeles, on music videos and commercials.

Upon graduation from Chapman, McCoy moved to Los Angeles, where he signed a two-year contract with Panavision. He worked as a camera technician and made daily set visits to Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, Disney, Sony, Warner Brothers, CBS and more. These set visits allowed McCoy to meet directors, producers, and camera crew members from most all of the television shows and feature films shooting in Los Angeles at the time. Those priceless connections and McCoy's technical skill allowed him to leave Panavision and begin working on feature films. Starting at the bottom as a film loader, and working his way up as a camera assistant, he was finally able to become a camera operator.

McCoy's first big break came when the producer of a Jessica Simpson music video asked him to be the Director of Photography on a feature film called "All Ages Night," which aired worldwide on Directv, Netflix, and Starz network. That project led to many others including the feature film "Love" which recently played in theaters across the nation and has won numerous awards. Many of his projects have received widespread media "buzz" in publications such as the Los Angeles Times, Variety, IFC, The Hollywood Reporter, Wired Magazine, Devour, Collider, Slashfilm, IMDb and more.

Now, with over 15 years of experience, McCoy's style, innovation, and early adoption of new formats have earned him roles on countless commercials, music videos, feature films, corporate & infomercials. He has in-depth experience as a Producer, Director, Cinematographer, and Editor and his career has taken him around the world. Most recently, McCoy was the Executive Producer of 10 worldwide commercial spots for Mitsubishi Motors.

McCoy's recent credits include: BMW, Exxon, Harley Davidson, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Nike, Sony, Subaru, Toyota, and Target.
